Both Broncos update

As per an earlier posting, I've opted to keep both broncos. The "Legendary Black Beast of AAAaaaarrrrgghh" and the "More Civilised Bronco". ;-) Here's a pic of the two of them side by side parked in front of our house:

The plan is to use the Black beast until I have the few things the Civilised (Red and Tan) Bronco fixed. The to do list is:

  • Rebuild carburetor
  • Fix rear axle pinion seal
  • Fix right rear axle seal
  • replace rear brake pads (because of leaking seal contaminating the brake pads)
  • Replace valve cover gaskets
  • Change oil
  • Tune up (I already finished this part)
  • Get air conditioning services
  • Do some paint job touch up on the hood where paint is peeling
And that's it. Compared to the HUGE todo list of the black beast, this is a very short and simple list.
They're both getting around 9-11 MPG, though the Black beast is a two barrel carburetor on a 351 Windsor V8, and the Civilized Bronco is a 4 barrell H.O. (High Output/High Performance) 351 V8.
