Server move completed (mostly)
It's been a long haul, but this site is finally running on a new server setup at a new colo...
Also, those who had trouble getting me on my cellphone last year, it's still the same cellphone number you can call me at, that it's been for years. So old friends, give me a call when you can. ;) More informaiton on the server move.....
The facility I was hosting at in San Diego, CA was a full server leased, but only had 512MB ram, and single cpu and wasn't upgradable. Additionally it was only 20GB/mo of traffic for $99/mo USD. I now have the site running on one of the servers i bought off MightyWords.
Dual CPU (ASUS) 866Mhz P3-512KB with 2 GIGABYTES of ram and dual mirrord ultra SCSI hard drives. PLUS I'm getting 100GB/mo of bandwidth for only $49/mo.
Thei backbone doesn't seem as fast as the location at ochosting was, but it's livable.
I bit the bullet and setup on RHEL whereas before I was on RH 7.3 before.
I'm almost done moving the other sites off the old server too, that should be done in another week or two I hope.
